Our Commitment to Community

At GOS Constructions QLD, we are proud to call North West Queensland home. Our business is deeply rooted in the local community, and we are committed to giving back through every project we undertake. We actively support local employment, partner with Indigenous businesses, and prioritise regional suppliers to ensure our work creates lasting social and economic benefits. Whether it's sponsoring local events, assisting in times of need, or contributing to infrastructure that strengthens our towns, we believe in building more than just roads and facilities—we’re building stronger, more connected communities.

Supporting Community Spirit in Gregory – Year After Year

GOS Constructions QLD is a proud recurring sponsor of some of Gregory’s most cherished annual events, including the Gregory Downs Race Meeting, Gregory Campdraft, and the Gregory Horse Sports and Family Fun Day.

Our support goes far beyond financial contributions. Brandon Goldstein, Director of GOS Constructions and Vice President of the Gregory Downs Jockey Club, plays a hands-on role in bringing these events to life. From countless volunteer hours spent preparing the racetrack to coordinating key logistics and even pulling bar shifts during the festivities, Brandon’s dedication reflects our company’s deep-rooted commitment to community.

These events are a cornerstone of local culture, bringing families, friends, and visitors together in celebration of the region’s heritage, talent, and spirit—values that GOS Constructions is proud to stand behind.

Brandon Goldstein – 2023 Burke Shire Community Champion

In early 2023, when record-breaking floods devastated Burke Shire, Brandon Goldstein emerged as a steadfast leader during one of the region’s most challenging times. With communities isolated and properties inundated, Brandon took immediate action—coordinating aerial evacuations, delivering supplies, and rescuing stranded livestock by helicopter.

As the emergency shifted to recovery, Brandon and the GOS Constructions QLD team were instrumental in the clean-up and restoration efforts. Their contribution went beyond business—they volunteered time, machinery, and expertise to help neighbours rebuild essential infrastructure, reconnect roads, and restore access to vital services.

Brandon was awarded the title of 2023 Burke Shire Community Champion in recognition of his hands-on support, community-first attitude, and exceptional leadership throughout the crisis. His unwavering dedication reflects the core values of GOS Constructions QLD: supporting our region through action, compassion, and commitment when it matters most.

The Gregory Cenotaph, located in Gregory, Queensland, is a war memorial dedicated to honouring the service and sacrifice of local veterans. The cenotaph has been a focal point for community remembrance activities, particularly on ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day.

In November 2021, new memorial gates were unveiled at the Gregory Cenotaph. These gates were designed and fabricated by local craftsman Joe Grace and were installed by GOS Constructions QLD in time for that year's Remembrance Day ceremony. The project took a couple of weeks to complete, and the finished gates weighed close to a tonne.

The Gregory Cenotaph continues to serve as a significant site for the community to pay tribute to those who have served in Australia's armed forces.

Melbourne Cup comes to Gregory

GOS Constructions QLD was proud to play an important role in bringing the iconic Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour to Gregory, creating an unforgettable experience for our remote community.

Our very own Ella Taylor was instrumental in event planning and catering, ensuring the day ran seamlessly and showcased the warmth and hospitality Gregory is known for. Meanwhile, Brandon Goldstein, Vice President of the Gregory Downs Jockey Club and Director of GOS Constructions, welcomed guests and shared the significance of this special occasion with visitors and locals alike.

The event was made even more memorable by the presence of racing legend and two-time Melbourne Cup-winning jockey, John Letts, who shared stories and celebrated the spirit of the Cup with our community.

This event reflects GOS Constructions’ ongoing commitment to supporting and enriching regional Queensland through community engagement and leadership.
